Hevylite®
Hevylite® is a unique test for heavy/light chain isotype analysis
IgA monoclonal proteins may co-migrate with other serum proteins
- These 14 co-migrating samples were difficult to measure accurately but all had an abnormal Hevylite ratio
- Around 40% of IgA monoclonal proteins cannot be quantified accurately by SPE
- Using Hevylite overcomes this limitation and improves patient monitoring
After comparing Hevylite to traditional assays for co-migrating IgA monoclonal proteins, Katzmann et al. concluded:
“The use of IgA HLC [Hevylite] assays for monitoring β-migrating IgA monoclonal proteins can substitute for the combination of SPEP, IFE and total IgA quantification”
