The new UK headquarters has a range of sustainable features and a BREEAM* rating of ‘Excellent’. It was built with a focus on key issues such as energy and water consumption, pollution, the protection of local ecology and has provisions for rainwater harvesting.
The building meets strict carbon emission restrictions and has solar controlled glass to minimise heat gains, whilst ensuring natural levels of daylight. There are over 40 bicycle racks and a variety of local public transport links so that employees can choose to limit their damage to the environment when travelling to and from work.
* BREEAM (Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method) is the world’s most widely used means of reviewing the environmental performance of buildings and is regarded as the measure of best practice in environmental design and management.
