"I completed an Industrial placement year at The Binding Site 5 years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year and learnt both technical and personal skills along the way. I was offered a position back at The Binding Site following the completion of my degree and have now been back at TBS ever since. I am now managing a team within the Research and Development Department, which comes with both its learning opportunities and challenges but more importantly its rewards. I enjoy working at TBS, mainly due to the people, the positive working environment, the development opportunities I have had and the varied and challenging nature of my role" Rachael Heeley, Manager - Raw Material Development
I started working at The Binding Site almost 12 years ago after finishing a Biochemistry BSc at the University of Birmingham. I was employed as a Research Scientist within the R&D department; my career grew within R&D and after 10 years I was a Research Team Leader working on the development and validation of new IVD tests, managing a group of scientists, technicians and placement students. During those 10 years it feels as if I have grown and matured at the same time as The Binding Site has! I have been part of building moves, regulatory audits, change in company owners, introduction of new instruments and products and also the implementation of a group wide ERP system. Being involved in the ERP project equipped me with additional skills that meant I could apply for a role of a Business Analyst within the Business Systems team, this has been a big change in my career where I have moved away from R&D projects and work on a variety of different business improvement projects mainly utilising our ERP system, IFS. The Binding Site has given me so many opportunities to build my career and I look forward to working together for more years to come! Amrit Kaur, Business Analyst
After completing my A-levels, I started working in the Clinical Chemistry team. I worked 4 days a week at The Binding Site, and spent 1 day at college studying for a level 3 BTEC diploma in applied science.
I take part in the testing and analysis of samples for different clinical studies. I have been trained to use different analysers in order to test samples. I have had a lot of support from my team with both my college course and also with my training.
After I completed my apprenticeship, and I was offered a permanent role within my team as a laboratory assistant, which I accepted. I am still thoroughly enjoying working at The Binding Site. Amy Rollins, Laboratory Assistant
